Spring 2018 Semester Review

This past Spring brought a world of discovery and growth which I never could have imagined. Of course there were many wonderful elements to the semester itself, but overwhelmingly I feel that my greatest joy came from what a contrast these few months were as compared to my previous Spring semester. A year ago on this day I thought I may not be returning to CMU - more specifically, I didn’t know how I ever could. Now I don’t know who I would be if I hadn’t. The day of my review I found out I would be assisting my professor Susan Tsu on The Revolutionists at Pittsburgh City Theatre, I emailed Sarah Maiorino to apply as an intern on her next feature film, and I walked away from the Purnell Center for the Arts feeling as if I belonged for the first time in what seemed like forever. I could and still can honestly say: I got better. I continue to get better. I am so lucky to be a flawed and hopeful artist.
